Entrepreneurship struggle of a great lady

Today we bring to you an inspiring story of a great lady, an electrical engineer that was able to achieve great success in her business with her determination and the desire to achieve the unachievable.

She is presently the CEO OF HANNISHIVE , she was able to turn 2,000 naira to hundreds of thousands.

so let's get to know more about her:

She is Hannatu jimoh onize  from okene local government area of kogi state. She is currently a final year student studying electrical engineering at FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY , minna.

With the interview we had with her this is what she has to say:

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO EMBRACE ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

"You have to find problems and use that to create a business no matter your profession.

As an aspiring engineer, I am trained to look for problems to solve."

So I applied it in my community, where there are scarcely mobile catering services and the few you could see are not so affordable. So I found that as a problem and I'm working on solving it."

SO THE LESSON TO BE LEARNT IN THIS PART OF HER STORY IS, LOOK FOR PROBLEMS IN YOUR COMMUNITY WHERE YOU LIVE SOLVE THEM AND BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR.

WHAT IS YOUR BRAND NAME?

" Basically, it is about hannishive and there are two sections so far. Hannishive is about jeweler and cosmetics while hannishive kitchen is the catering section.

So Hannishive is the original  name but we aspire to go into tailoring and  education precisely secondary school. There will be a different Hannishive."

THE LESSON TO BE LEARNT IN THIS PART OF HER STORY IS AFTER LOOKING FOR PROBLEMS TO SOLVE HAVE A BRAND NAME, IT MAKES YOU UNIQUE AND PEOPLE GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER.

WHEN DID YOU START THIS BUSINESS?

"I started the business in june 2018 but i formally Registered it at cooperate affairs commission in march 2019 and since then we have been expanding."

THE LESSON TO BE LEARNT IN THIS PART IS START WITH WHATEVER TOOLS YOU HAVE AND BETTER TOOLS WILL BE FOUND ON THE WAY.

HOW DID YOU RAISE FUNDS FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

"As a normal university student I  used to be broke and I was looking for ways to raise funds without having to bother my family.

So I decided to start with about 2000 NAIRA and I found out that my little needs were being taken care of. So I felt I should make it bigger to a real business. So I began to plough back my profit into the business, thereby expanding the business to where it is today worth around HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS."

THE LESSON TO BE LEARNT IN THIS PART IS YOU CAN START LITTLE BUT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS THINK ON HOW TO GROW THE BUSINESS TO SOMETHING BIG BY TAKING BACK THE PROFIT INTO THE BUSINESS.

HOW MANY EMPLOYEES WORK WITH YOU NOW?

"I dont have any employee for now I manage the business myself  because covid 19 pandemic has affected us. But before I used to have 3 staff members that were handling our social media marketing and other small tasks. In the future we hope to improve the business and getting more hands to help us."

THE LESSON TO BE LEARNT IN THIS PART IS AS A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR YOU WORK AS A TEAM NOT AS AN INDIVIDUAL.AND YOUR TEAM SHOULD COMPRISE OF GREAT PARTNERS. PARTNERS THAT HAVE SOMETHING TO OFFER FOR THE BETTERMENT OF YOUR COMPANY.

WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE DOING THIS BUSINESS?

"Right now we are working on expanding the business through referral system.

We are also working on securing a building for our company. even though we operate online now."

THE LESSON TO BE LEARNT IN THIS PART IS FOR WELL RECOGNITION YOUR COMPANY SHOULD HAVE A BUILDING THEY OWN BY SO DOING PEOPLE WILL GET TO KNOW THEM BETTER.

Here is what she have for youths willing to start a business.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUTHS WILLING TO START A BUSINESS?

"My advice to the youths is that father and mother may not always be there for you.

Even if they are there, the rate of unemployment is increasing and we should stop waiting for white collar job.

You Should be able to start a business and be your own boss."

SO I CHALLENGE YOU TO START A BUSINESS NOW IF YOU ARE CONCERN ABOUT YOUR FINANCIAL LIFE HAVING A JOB ALONE WON'T ALWAYS SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
